FOSTV Challenge 122 " Use Vellum"

For this challenge at mfpspeedyTV, you need to use vellum. I wanted to do something different for this challenge. I found a tutorial to make a luminary. I used the vellum for the center. I used Memento ink to color the vellum. I used a 1 1/4" circle punch to use as the stencil for the sun. My sun was sponged with Tangelo and Dandelion Memento Ink. My sky is Summer Sky and Bahama Blue Memento Ink. The sand ( beach) is Desert Sand Memento Ink. I let the ink dry before doing anything else with it. My patterned paper is BoBunny " Country Garden" Collection. My blue cardstock is Gina K. I used the back of the paper packs cardboard to give my project some stability. The patterned paper and blue cardstock was adhered to the cardboard. I then cut the center out with Spellbinder's Mega Oval Large die. I used my Crop a Dile to punch holes on each side. Once the vellum was dry, it was adhered to the inside of each diecut cardstock. I used the bird from Gullible stamp set and the sand dollar from Sand Dollar stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. The images were stamped on watercolor paper with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The images were then colored with Distress markers, blended with water, and cut out. I used hemp to put together the sides of the luminary. The gull and sand dollar were adhered with foam tape. I used an electric tea light in the center of the luminary.
This is a great centerpiece for everyday or any special occasion.

Tutorial Time Challenge 97

For this challenge at MFP Speedy TV, we created a medallion using paper and a scoreboard. For my medallion, I used BoBunny "Weekend Market Collection." The Scoop Texture Card

Supplies from StampingScrapping:

Justrite The Scoop Vintage Labels 4 Stamp Set
Justrite Vinatge Labels 4 Dies
Copics
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Glimmer Mist

Other Supplies:
    Craft Mat
Embossing Machine ( I used my BigShot)
Cardstock: piece of scrap for the spackling, A2 size card
My cardstock is Stampin Up! Tempting Turquoise and Crafter's Companion UltraSmooth White cardstock
Putty knife or other utensil to spread paste
Embossing Folder  ( I used Sizzix Stripes from Pinwheels and Stripes Set)
Spackle, Drywall Compound, gesso ( any type of pastelike material)

I recently learned this technique from another challenge I did. I changed the challenge up a little bit.
 Here is my version:
I stamped my image using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with my Copics. I then diecut my image out using the Justrite Vintage Labels 4 die that coordinated with my image. I set this aside for later.

Using a larger size scrap paper ( just smaller than my A2 cardbase for layering), I spread my spackle compound on the paper. I wanted a layer that was not too thin or thick. I let that sit for about 2 minutes. I then used my embossing folder and embossed the paper to give it texture. The image will look rough ( that's what you want). I let the image dry.

While it was drying, I cleaned up my embossing folders and embossing plates. You don't want the spackle to dry on your tools.
Once the image was dry, I sprayed the paper with Glimmer Mist. You could use any type of spray.
My colors were Black Cherry and Turquoise Blue. Again let this dry.

    Assemble your card and done!

  Hope you enjoy this.
    Happy Kreating!!
