For this challenge at mfpspeedyTV, you need to use vellum. I wanted to do something different for this challenge. I found a tutorial to make a luminary. I used the vellum for the center. I used Memento ink to color the vellum. I used a 1 1/4" circle punch to use as the stencil for the sun. My sun was sponged with Tangelo and Dandelion Memento Ink. My sky is Summer Sky and Bahama Blue Memento Ink. The sand ( beach) is Desert Sand Memento Ink. I let the ink dry before doing anything else with it. My patterned paper is BoBunny " Country Garden" Collection. My blue cardstock is Gina K. I used the back of the paper packs cardboard to give my project some stability. The patterned paper and blue cardstock was adhered to the cardboard. I then cut the center out with Spellbinder's Mega Oval Large die. I used my Crop a Dile to punch holes on each side. Once the vellum was dry, it was adhered to the inside of each diecut cardstock. I used the bird from Gullible stamp set and the sand dollar from Sand Dollar stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. The images were stamped on watercolor paper with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The images were then colored with Distress markers, blended with water, and cut out. I used hemp to put together the sides of the luminary. The gull and sand dollar were adhered with foam tape. I used an electric tea light in the center of the luminary.
This is a great centerpiece for everyday or any special occasion.Come and play along with our challenge here.
